Natural grass needs recovery time between heavy use or it thins out and turns to bare dirt in the exact zones that see the most traffic — goal mouths, the center of the field, the areas in front of benches. Most groundskeepers rest a grass field for a day or more after a heavy event and cap total annual hours of play to keep the turfgrass alive.
